Inquiry on Viewing Item Purchase History Information in Kinetic

Dear IT Team,

We would like to seek clarification regarding the purchase history functionality in the Kinetic system.

Based on previous discussions, we understand that Kinetic may be capable of storing and displaying the following information for each item/part number:

  • Last purchase price
  • Supplier/vendor information
  • Last purchase date
  • Historical purchase records

We would appreciate your assistance in confirming:

  1. Whether this information is currently available in our Kinetic environment.
  2. If available, please advise where users can access or view these details within the system.
  3. Whether these fields can be displayed directly when searching for an item/part number, without navigating through multiple screens.
  4. If this functionality is not currently available, please advise whether it can be configured, customized, or developed as an enhancement.

Business Requirement:
Users would like to quickly view the latest purchase information (last purchase price, supplier, and purchase date) when searching for a part number to support purchasing and pricing decisions.

Hi Rachel,

In Kinetic UI there is a menu call purchase advisor, You may find this menu by click the partnum field > part advisor.

This menu will show all historical PO information for the selected part.

This is sample the purchase advisor from our demo environment in latest Kinetic version.

Thank you for your previous response and for confirming that the purchase history information is currently available through the Purchase Advisor function.

We have reviewed the current process and understand that users can access the last purchase price, supplier information, and purchase date through Purchase Advisor. However, we would like to request an enhancement to improve purchasing efficiency and user experience.

Currently, purchasers need to navigate to Purchase Advisor to review the latest purchase information before making a purchasing decision. We would like to explore the possibility of displaying the following information directly within the item search screen, item dashboard, or other relevant purchasing screens:

  • Last Purchase Price
  • Last Supplier/Vendor
  • Last Purchase Date

Business Justification:
Displaying this information directly when searching for a part number would allow purchasers to quickly compare historical purchase data without opening additional screens. This would improve efficiency, reduce processing time, and support faster and more informed purchasing decisions.

We would appreciate your assessment on:

  1. Whether this enhancement can be configured using existing Kinetic functionality.
  2. Whether customization or development would be required.
  3. The estimated effort and feasibility of implementing this enhancement.

Hi Rachel,

The Stellar team replied that they can customize the PO Line screen to show historical purchase part information in a grid at the bottom of the screen.
