PO/JO suggestion and PO/JO Entry unable to linked each other

When we open the PO Entry dashboard, and search for the PO number, we can see that this PO is generated from Purchase Requisition (PR). Similarly, Purchase Requsition Entry dashboard, when we key in the PR no. we can see the PO number as well. Both are linked and we can know that this particular PO is generated from PR. HOWEVER, there is no indication on whether is generated from PO Suggestion/MRP.

Same goes to JO Entry dashboard, we can only see JO number and other details but no indication of whether this JO is generated from JO Suggestion/MRP.

In conclusion, Requisition Entry (PR) and PO Entry can linked each other. PO / JO suggestion and PO / JO Entry unable to linked each other – no where to check if the PO / JO entry is created from PO / JO suggestion

Hi Charmine,

Stellar has confirmed that MRP-suggested jobs will initially have a prefix such as MRP0001. However, once the job is firmed, the job number will be changed to the normal sequence (e.g., JO0005).

Under standard Epicor functionality, after a job or PO suggestion is converted/firmed, there is no way to identify whether it was originally created by MRP or manually.

Hi Charmine,

The Stellar team is able to customize the system by adding an additional UD field in the Purchase Order Entry screen. When a Purchase Order is created from a PO suggestion generated by MRP, the field will automatically display “MRP”.

Hi Charmine,

For jobs, you can differentiate between MRP-generated jobs and manually created jobs by using different prefixes. As long as manually created jobs do not use the same prefix configured in the Company Settings (e.g., Firm Job: JO, Unfirm Job: MRP), you will be able to identify the source of the job.

For example, when you see a job number with the prefix MRP, it indicates that the job was generated by MRP. A job number with the prefix JO indicates a firm job created through the standard process.

thanks Lihui! As spoken, kindly help to obtain quotation to have these 2 customisation. This would greatly help the Supply Chain and MFG/PRO team as well as for my reporting for PO suggestion and JO suggestion. Thank you.
